And the Best Use of Sitar Award goes to:

Just listen to their jam on their website player and their mind-blowing song Pulling Shapes.

This is the type of music that comes to me in dreams, wraps me in a cocoon of swirly psychedelic sounds, and warms me from the inside out......

When they release their forthcoming EP, and next year, their planned full-length album, anyone who has even the slightest desire for listening to neo-psych, MUST HAVE those in their collection. These guys are young, talented as all hell, and ready to take on the world with sitar in hand, and plenty of fantastic compositions to come....

The new wave of psychedelic music

As I lovingly call it, neo-psychedlic rock music, comes to me in many different creations, with different themes and moods coming from the many fantastic artists making it today. Some songs come through to me as a bit dark and sinister and sexy (Black Market Karma: Take My Soul, The Bavarian Druglords: Fangs); some songs come through to me as light as hugging a cloud (Sky Parade: Love Is Forever). There is a long & beautiful road with many branches to follow between these two forks of neo-psych, and I love the sights these bands show me along the way. All of this music seems rooted in the past, from the 60s and early 70s, times of stuggle, strife, change, and dreams of a beautiful present and future..........no wonder musicians are revisiting these themes today with their music. Those words sound like they could describe the world I live in today.

Who says there is no exciting new music being created today?

Not too long ago, someone on a favorite band of mine's forum said he thought there was a lack of great new music today. I wanted to shake him by the shirt collar and scream in his face, "Are you living under a rock?!!!!!!!" Just the opposite, my friends, just the opposite............you just have to know where to look & listen. Some bands making music worth listening to and bringing into your little world are:

Black Market Karma (UK)
The Bavarian Druglords (US)
House Of Fire (US)
Mushroom Giant (Australia)
Black Nite Crash (US)
The Vandelles (US)
Audn (US)
Sky Parade (US)
The Sky Drops (US)
The Strange Flowers (Italy)
The Hoa Hoa's (Canada)

For today, I only have time to list them, to get them on this blog site. Soon, though, I will write about them in detail and post some music and videos to try to get them some well-deserved exposure.........I should add that they all fall under my umbrella of neo-psychedelic bands, even though they all have VERY different sounds, all their own.
